Scripture Reading: Exodus 8:22
And I will sever in that day the land of Goshen, in which my people dwell, that no swarms of flies shall be there; to the end, thou mayest know that I am the LORD amid the earth

Reflections: Moses was sent by God to deliver the people of Israel from Egyptian bondage. He deployed a series of divine judgements against the Egyptians. Although these verdicts were meant to attack the entire land of Egypt, God granted Goshen, a part of the land of Egypt where the people of Israel dwelt, an exemption from all these onslaughts. This meant that God severed out Goshen from all other lands that constituted Egypt and made it free. It was a wonder to see every part of Egypt, and every Egyptian suffer affliction while Goshen distinctively enjoyed immunity. Like Israel in Goshen, divine exemptions will mark you as a covenant child of God. It will boost your faith and deflate the confidence of your enemies!

Prayer: Oh Lord, I thank you for the divine exemptions I enjoy in life.
