Scripture Reading: Matthew 9:5-7
“For which is easier, to say, ‘Your sins are forgiven you,’ or to say, ‘Arise and walk’? But that you may know that the Son of Man has power on earth to forgive sins—then He said to the paralytic, ‘Arise, take up your bed, and go to your house.’ And he arose and departed to his house.”
Reflections: Sin can sometimes be the root cause of sickness, and that forgiveness is a pathway to both spiritual and physical healing. When Jesus healed the paralytic, He first addressed the man’s spiritual condition by forgiving his sins before commanding him to rise and walk. This shows us that Jesus sees beyond the physical symptoms to the heart of the issue and brings holistic restoration. Sin creates separation between us and God, and its consequences can manifest in various ways, including illness (Psalm 32:3-5). While not all sickness is caused by sin, it is essential to discern whether unconfessed sin may be hindering our well-being. Through repentance and seeking forgiveness, we align ourselves with God’s grace and power, opening the door for healing and restoration.
Prayer: Father, I come to You for forgiveness and healing. Cleanse my heart, remove every hindrance, and restore me by Your grace.
Confession: I am forgiven, redeemed, and restored through Christ. I walk in His healing, peace, and divine health.
