Scripture Reading: Acts 13:22
“And when He had removed him, He raised up unto them David to be their king; to whom also He gave testimony, and said, ‘I have found David the son of Jesse, a man after My own heart, who will do all My will.’”

Reflections: In his sermon at Antioch, Paul recalled David’s rise to the throne, emphasizing that God’s choice of David was based not on external qualifications, but on the willingness of his heart to do God’s will. Paul highlights that God Himself gave ‘witness’ to David’s character, describing him as a man after His own heart. The Greek word martureó, translated as ‘witness,’ meaning “to testify,” shows that God evaluates our hearts and testifies to our true nature. The condition of your heart determines the testimony God gives about you and the responsibilities He entrusts to you. Just as God knew David’s heart, He knows each of us fully and responds accordingly. Is your heart ready for God’s divine assignment?
