And the child grew, waxed strong in spirit, and was in the deserts till the day of his showing unto Israel.

Reflections: A prophecy followed John’s conception and birth that he would be a renowned prophet to prepare men’s hearts for salvation. As he grew up, John chose to hide, living in the desert until the time came to manifest his destiny publicly. In between his physical growth and the public manifestation of his prophetic destiny, he developed the spiritual strength required to operate his prophetic ministry. Thus, he committed himself to a season of preparation. This helped him to flourish in ministry and fulfil his life’s goal. Like John, don’t rush to achieve your goals. Take time to prepare; increase spiritual strength, build skills, grow knowledge and develop winning strategies. Preparation always precedes success!
