Scripture Reading: Exo 15:11
Who is like unto thee, O LORD, among the gods? Who is like thee, glorious in holiness, fearful in praises, doing wonders?
Reflections: It became apparent that it was not just about the people of Israel and the Egyptians but about the God of Israel versus the Egyptians. At this time, the God of Israel had divided the red sea to allow Israel to pass through. Moses, ready to stretch forth his rod to close up the sea, watched as the Egyptians pursued them. The only option the god of the Egyptians had to demonstrate his superiority at this time was to stop the closing up of the sea so that at least his people would be safe. He failed to do so, however. The sea that earlier stood divided into two now rolled up together with ease at the command of the God of Israel. As he watched the entire Egyptian force drown, It was enough for Moses to conclude that there was no god like their God! Indeed, the evidence produced by the crossing of the red sea demonstrates that our God is unparalleled in power. Like Israel, God will bring you to a place where you will note that there is no god like HIM!
Prayer: Dear Lord, bring me to the place where there will be evidence that there is no God apart from you.
Confession: There is no god like our God.
