Scripture Reading: John 10: 4-5
And when he putteth forth his own sheep, he goeth before them, and the sheep follow him: for they know his voice. And a stranger will they not follow, but will flee from him: for they know not the voice of strangers.
Reflection: Jesus often used parables to teach his disciples about important principles in life. In one of such parables. Jesus mentions that every sheep knows the voice of its shepherd and that there is no circumstances under which the sheep could be made to follow a stranger. He ends by saying that if a stranger should approach the sheep rather than its shepherd, the sheep will run away. Jesus hits the nail right on the head. No child of God should be deceived by people who claim to be Pastors but in reality have not been called and ordained by God. These are strangers who have entered the kingdom to devour people and what they have. They don’t aim at getting people saved. Neither do they aim at getting them heaven bound. They only get what you have and refrain from telling you the truth about righteousness. There are strangers in town. It is time to discern who they are and run away from them. Ask God to reveal any ‘ stranger’ in disguise to you.
Confession: I will not fall prey to strangers in disguise. As God’s sheep I know the voice of genuine pastors that God has provided for his church.
