Wednesday, 8th July 2020: The hand of God shall be against the wrath of your enemies!

Scripture Reading: Psalm 138:7  Though I walk in the midst of trouble, thou wilt revive me: thou shalt stretch forth thine hand against the wrath of mine enemies, and thy right hand shall save me.

Reflections: The Psalmist notes that when God stretches forth His hand against the wrath of his enemies, he will be delivered from their evil schemes against his life. We see a clear demonstration of this in the book of Esther where Haman was full of wrath against Mordecai the Jew and worked out a plan to get him  and the rest of his kinsmen killed (Esther 3:5-7). In response to the prayers of the Jews, (Esther 4:16) God stretched forth His hand against the wrath of Mordecai, a  divine act which saw Mordecai getting treated to a place of national honour (Esther 6:7-12) while Haman ordered to take his place in death through hanging (Esther 7:8-10). In manifestation, the stretching forth of the hand of God against the wrath of your enemies does not just result in the overthrow of your enemies but also in the promotion of your life. The hand of God shall surely be against the wrath of your enemies!

Prayers: Oh God, stretch forth your hands against the wrath of my enemies.
Confession: The hand of God is against the wrath of my enemies.
