Scripture Reading:Mat 26:10
When Jesus understood it, He said unto them, Why trouble ye the woman? for she hath wrought a good work upon me.
Reflections: They all sat around the table with Jesus. Suddenly a woman with an alabaster box of precious ointment, took the ointment out of the box and poured it on the head of Jesus. This sparked off the anger of the disciples. They felt it was needless for the woman to have taken what they considered to be such a wasteful action. To them the ointment could have been sold and the money put to very good use. Jesus intervened in the matter and explained that the woman was rather right with her line of action and that prophetically she had prepared His body for burial. The disciples realized they had been too quick to condemn the woman. Sometimes you may think you are right with your judgment over the actions of people but may end up realizing how wrong you have been. This speaks of arrogance and can be very shameful. Unlike the disciples, don’t be too quick to jump to conclusions. Take your time. Learn not to judge by mere sight. Let the Holy Spirit lead you.
Prayer: Dear Lord, help me not to judge by mere sight. Let your Spirit lead me.
Confession: I don’t make judgements by mere sight. I allow the Spirit to lead me.
