Reflections: Jesus told His disciples that he would be humiliated, flogged, and crucified but would rise again on the third day. Despite being given this information, the disciples were unable to grasp its significance. The intended interpretation of Jesus’ words was deliberately veiled from their understanding. If the disciples had fully grasped the implications of His words, they might have reacted in a manner that would have prevented Him from fulfilling His destiny of suffering and dying to save us from our sins. Similar to this, there may be instances where crucial information is withheld from us as a result of the inappropriate response we may tend to give. However, if we react to what we are told with composure and maturity, we can be given access to even more information.

Prayer: Oh Lord, help me remain composed and mature in my responses to life’s situations.
