Wednesday, 6th November 2024: There is wisdom in Seeking Help in Times of Need!

Scripture Reading: 1 Samuel 11:3 (NKJV)
“Then the elders of Jabesh said to him, ‘Hold off for seven days, that we may send messengers to all the territory of Israel. And then, if there is no one to save us, we will come out to you.’”
Reflections: When the people of Jabesh Gilead faced destruction from King Nahash of Ammon, they didn’t surrender immediately. Instead, the elders showed wisdom and humility by reaching out for help, sending messengers across Israel to rally support. Their call brought Saul and the Israelite army to their rescue, resulting in a victory that saved Jabesh and strengthened Israel’s unity. Unlike the elders of Jabesh, we often let pride or fear hold us back from seeking assistance. Yet, their story reminds us of the strength in recognizing our limitations and seeking help when challenges seem overwhelming. Reaching out isn’t a sign of weakness but a mark of wisdom and trust in God’s provision.
Prayer: Lord, give me the wisdom to seek help in times of need.
Confession: I will not let pride or fear hold me back from reaching out.
