Wednesday, 6th May 2020: Impatience can mess you up!

Scripture Reading: Acts 7:40-41 Saying unto Aaron, Make us gods to go before us: for as for this Moses, which brought us out of the land of Egypt, we wot not what is become of him. And they made a calf in those days, and offered sacrifice unto the idol, and rejoiced in the works of their own hands.

Reflections: It was almost 40 days since Moses left the camp to the mountain top to receive the 10 commandments from God. Israel wondered what might have happened to him. They became impatient and could no longer wait. In their thoughts they failed to consider that there was no way God was ever going to leave them stranded on their journey to the promised land. Their impatience led them into satanic worship where they bowed down to a golden calf amidst having sex indiscriminately with each other. They made a real mess of themselves. Impatience is when you can’t wait too long for something or someone. In such moments, you easily get irritated and respond to issues in a way which can take you out of the will of God. Patience is therefore a key virtue to acquire. Without it, you can mess up just like the people of Israel.

Prayer: Dear Lord, help me do away with impatience in life.

Confession: I will give no place to the devil through impatience. I will remain patient in life.
