Wednesday, 5th February 2025: Freely You Have Received, Freely Give!

Scripture Reading: Matthew 10:7-8 (KJV)
“And as ye go, preach, saying, the kingdom of heaven is at hand. Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give.”

Reflections: Jesus’ command to His disciples underscores the essence of true ministry: it is a spiritual calling, not a commercial transaction. As disciples, we are called to serve selflessly, freely sharing the gifts we have received—salvation, healing, and deliverance. These blessings come from God and are not commodities to be sold. Monetizing them distorts ministry, shifting the focus from God’s glory to personal gain. True discipleship operates on grace—giving as God has given to us. This does not mean rejecting support (Matthew 10:10 affirms that “the workman is worthy of his meat”), but ministry must be driven by service, not financial gain. A disciple’s heart should be marked by generosity, advancing God’s Kingdom and trusting Him to provide.

Prayer: Lord, Help me to serve others selflessly, without seeking personal gain.

Confession: I will not monetize the blessings of God but will freely give as I have freely received.
