Scripture Reading: Gen 22:12
And he said, Lay not thine hand upon the lad, neither do thou anything unto him: for now I know that thou fearest God, seeing thou hast not withheld thy son, thine only son from me
Reflections: Abraham had only one son, Isaac, whom he loved deeply. One day, God asked him to sacrifice Isaac, a request that seemed unusual and difficult. However, Abraham obediently followed God’s command. Just as he was about to sacrifice Isaac, God stopped him, revealing that the request was a test to confirm Abraham’s reverence and fear of God. Abraham’s willingness to sacrifice Isaac demonstrated his fear of God. This story teaches that the fear of the Lord involves prioritizing Him, obeying His commands, and depending on Him completely. Those who live in reverence of God, as Abraham did, are blessed by Him.
Prayer: Dear Lord, help me to pass every divine test with faith and reverence!
Confession: I am walking in the fear of the Lord, and I am blessed because of it!
