Wednesday, 4th October 2023: Do not allow situations to change your faith in God!

Scripture Reading: Job 19:25-27 For I know that my redeemer liveth, and that he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth: And though after my skin worms destroy this body, yet in my flesh shall I see God: Whom I shall see for myself, and mine eyes shall behold, and not another; though my reins be consumed within me.

Reflections: After losing his business and children, Job’s health began to fail. He grew so thin and weak that his bones protruded from his skin, making him almost unrecognizable to those who knew him. Adding to his despair, his wife, friends, and servants despised and abandoned him. Despite his helplessness, he remarkably proclaimed that he would not change his God for another. In his statement, he professed his belief in the existence of God, his redeemer and expressed his conviction that God would show up one day to vindicate him. Job defiantly refused to allow his problems to change his faith in God. No wonder God turned his condition around! When we do not allow situations to change our faith in God, He turns those conditions around.
Prayer: Thank you, Lord for grace to remain resolute in my faith despite life’s trials.
Confession: I remain resolute in my faith despite life’s trials.
