Wednesday, 4th March 2020: You can avoid a walk in error!

Scripture Reading: 1 Corinthians 2:10-11.  But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God. For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God.

Reflections: The rulers and officials of Israel at the time of Jesus committed a fatal error. They adjudicated his case, found him guilty and sentenced him to death even though he was innocent. As revealed by Paul, this error was caused because they had no relationship with the Holy Spirit. He points us to a key functional position of the Holy Spirit in the life of a person as a revealer of hidden things. ‘The Spirit’, as he puts it, ‘searches and knows all things’. As it implies, If the rulers had had a personal relationship with the Holy Spirit who ‘searches and knows all things’, they would have been enabled by Him to discern the deity of Jesus Christ. It stands to reason that without the Holy Spirit who guides us into all truth (John 16:13), you will definitely find yourself moving into error even though you may be sincere. Ask to be enabled by the Holy Spirit to avoid walking in errors.

Prayer: Dear Holy Spirit, guide me into all truth so I do not walk in errors.

Confession: I am enabled by the Holy Spirit to avoid walking in errors.
