Wednesday, 31st July 2024: Have the right framework for choice making!

Scripture Reading: 1 Corinthians 10:23
All things are lawful for me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but all things edify not.

Reflections: The Apostle Paul presents his decision-making philosophy to the Corinthian church, emphasizing the importance of considering expediency and edification. According to him, choices should be evaluated based on their relevance and appropriateness to one’s life (expediency) and their alignment with the Christian faith and spiritual benefit (improvement). Actions that do not meet these criteria should be discarded. This approach offers a valuable framework for making life decisions: having the freedom to choose while considering each choice’s expediency and edifying nature.

Prayer: Dear Lord, help me to involve myself with actions that are relevant and beneficial to my spiritual development.

Confession: I will not involve myself in actions that are not relevant and beneficial to my spiritual development.
