Scripture Reading:Psa 37:25
I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread.
Reflections: David undertook a review of his life from childhood to his present old age. He seemed to be making a comparative study of the outcomes of lives exhibited by those who lived righteously and those who didn’t. The study findings indicated that those who lived righteously were never abandoned by God. Their children could not also be listed among the beggars in the community. The study underscores the importance of sustaining our stance to live righteously. Keep living righteously. Like David you are on the pathway to experience that dimension of the goodness of the Lord which will enable you to also testify and say – ‘I have never seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread!
Prayer: Dear Lord, I thank you for your goodness which ensures that I will not be abandoned in life and neither will my children become beggars.
Confession: I keep living righteously. I will not be forsaken in life. Neither will my seed beg for bread.
