Scripture Reading: Matthew 12:14-15
“Then the Pharisees went out, and held a council against him, how they might destroy him. But when Jesus knew it, he withdrew himself from thence: and great multitudes followed him, and he healed them all.”
Reflections: In this passage, Jesus models wisdom in responding to threats. Knowing the Pharisees planned to harm Him, He chose to withdraw, not out of fear but as an act of discernment and strategy. His withdrawal did not hinder His mission—He continued healing and ministering to the people who followed Him. Walking away from danger does not signify weakness; it is wisdom. As Proverbs 22:3 says, “The prudent see danger and take refuge.” Sometimes, retreating from harmful situations allows us to preserve ourselves for greater purposes. As followers of Christ, we must exercise discernment, knowing when to stand firm and when to step back. This wisdom ensures we remain effective in our divine assignments while avoiding unnecessary harm.
Prayer: Lord, grant me the wisdom to discern and walk away from danger.
Confession: I walk in wisdom. I discern and walk away from danger.
