Wednesday, 27th May 2020: There is a way out!

Scripture Reading: 1cor 10:13
There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.

Reflections: Provisions have been made by God to enable you overcome any temptation that confronts you. Paul sheds light on this to the Corinthian church. He gets them to understand two keys things. The first is that God will not allow any temptation which is beyond what they can overcome. Secondly God has put in place a way of escape (an exit out of a confined place) for any given temptation. Thus when confronted with any temptation, they first of all have to bear in mind that they have divine strength within them to overcome it. This will automatically boost their ability to resist it. Then while resisting the demands of that temptation, they are required to look out for a way of escape. Once they cooperate with these two levels of divine operations, they are bound to win the battle. That’s the way to go too! Indeed, you have divine provisions to overcome any temptation. There is no temptation you cannot overcome!

Prayer: Lord, I thank you that I have the provisions to overcome any temptation.

Confession: There is no temptation I cannot overcome.
