Wednesday, 27th July 2022: Divine Protection!

Scripture Reading: Job 1:10
Hast, not thou made a hedge about him, and about his house, and about all that he hath on every side? Thou hast blessed the work of his hands, and his substance is increased in the land

Reflections: A conversation ensues between Satan and God regarding the life of Job. ‘Hast, not thou made a hedge about him, and about his house, and about all that he hath on every side?’ Satan yells out to God. Satan’s submission is proof that he had tried severally to attack Job but had failed. All of his weapons and strategies were no match for the hedge that God had put around Job. A hedge is a fence of protection. In this context, it is not something seen in the physical. It is simply divine protection. As long as you have a divine hedge around you, Satan remains powerless against you. The way to have your divine hedge intact is by following the example of Job. He lived a life of absolute reverence and obedience to God.

Prayer: Oh Lord, grant me divine protection. Give me also grace to walk in your will.

Confession: I live a life of absolute obedience and reverence to God. I have a divine hedge around my life.
