Scripture Reading: Ruth 1:14

And they lifted up their voice, and wept again: and Orpah kissed her mother in law; but Ruth clave unto her.

Reflection: The book of Ruth is a story of perseverance and greatness. Faced with the same calamity of having been bereaved of their husbands, Orpah and Ruth had two options in life- whether to stick to Naomi, their mother in-law or to exit from her life. Orpah chose to exit from Naomi’s life while Ruth clung to her. The end result of the two choices proves a point to be well noted in life. Whiles the exit of Orpah ended her participation in the story of greatness, that of Ruth engaged her continuous participation. Indeed she rose to prominence in life by getting married to Boaz, a kinsman of Naomi. Don’t miss choosing the right people as friends in this life when the occasion arises. They will be your link to prominence! Ask God for grace to choose and keep the right friends in life.
