Scripture Reading: Genesis 12:4
So Abram departed, as the LORD had spoken unto him; and Lot went with him: and Abram was seventy and five years old when he departed out of Haran.
Reflections: It is inevitable to ask questions for clarification and to gauge one’s degree of trust in a given instruction. However, Abram was an exception to this rule. He just obeyed without questioning when God told him to leave his country and move to an unknown location. He just gathered his household, packed his possessions, and left. Although he didn’t know where he was going, he still trusted God to guide him. Abram’s action exemplifies an exceptional faith walk and highlights a fundamental characteristic of faith: it does not ask questions indicating a reluctance to obedience. As long as you hear God’s voice plainly, your level of faith is demonstrated by your unquestioning obedience.
Prayer: Dear Lord, please help me obey you without asking questions that indicates a reluctance to obedience.
Confession: I comply to divine instructions without asking questions.
