Scripture Reading: Isaiah 28:6
And for a spirit of judgment to him that sitteth in judgment, and for strength to them that turn the battle to the gate
Reflections: Isaiah predicts Israel’s salvation. At that time, Israel will have the ‘strength to turn the battle to the gate”. To turn the battle to the gate denotes driving the enemy out from one’s territory into that of the enemy’s, where a final deadly blow is dealt to them. It depicts Israel’s unstoppable victory and her adversaries’ humiliation. As the redeemed of the Lord, God has given you the power to ward off any threat to your life and humiliate your foes. Rightly put, you have the strength to ‘turn any battle to the gate’ of your enemies. You are irresistible in battles!
Prayer: Dear Lord, I thank you for your strength to turn any battle to the gate.
Confession: I am on the winning side! I turn battles to the gates of my enemies.
