Scripture Reading : 1 Peter 5:1 The elders which are among you I exhort, who am also an elder, and a witness of the sufferings of Christ, and also a partaker of the glory that shall be revealed:
Reflections: It is apparent that Peter lived his life with the consciousness that he was going to partake in a coming glory. The word glory in context refers to a realm of life absolutely different from that of this current earthly one. This realm of life as confirmed by Paul ( 1 Thessa 4: 15-17 & 1 Cor 15:49-53) shall commence with a shout from heaven which will occasion the rising up of the dead in Christ to meet Him in the air. Those alive on earth at the time who are genuinely Christians shall as well be caught up together in the process to meet the Lord in the air. Both parties before meeting the Lord in the air will drop off their earthly bodies in exchange for a heavenly one which can never die or get sick. In this new glorious body they will be taken to heaven by the Lord where a new but unending glorious life begins! Clearly this earthly life full of troubles and limitations can never be compared with this new realm of coming glory. The dead in Christ will not miss it. Don’t miss it too.
Prayer: Dear Lord, help me not to miss the coming glory.
Confession : I am a partaker of the glory that shall be revealed! I will not miss it !
