Reflections: The expression “set your affection on” is based on the Greek term “Phroneo.” It deals with the mindset of directing your thoughts towards something you find important. This mindset then influences your actions and choices. Essentially, your life is shaped by the ideas that regularly occupy your mind and motivate you to do something. Despite our physical presence on earth, the Apostle Paul highlights that heavenly values, rather than earthly ones, should be the primary focus of our thoughts. Essentially, Paul is encouraging us to understand that maintaining a concentrated mindset on heavenly principles is crucial for developing the virtuous character that prepares us for heaven. It is essential to foster a mindset centred on heavenly values!
