Scripture Reading: Daniel 6:24
And the king commanded, and they brought those men which had accused Daniel, and they cast them into the den of lions, them, their children, and their wives; and the lions had the mastery of them, and brake all their bones in pieces or ever they came at the bottom of the den.
Reflections: Daniel found himself in the lions den. As he was being cast into the den, all his accusers thought it was going to be the end of his life. They had carefully plotted his downfall and death because of envy. By the next morning however, they discovered that their efforts had been rendered futile by the God of Daniel. He had shut up the mouth of the lions and Daniel had been kept alive miraculously. To their utter shock and further disappointment, they were ordered by the King to take up the place of Daniel in the lion’s den. Their wives and children were also asked to join them. Like Daniel, whatever your accusers plan against you shall take them up in the end. They shall indeed be disappointed. God remains in the business of disappointing the devices of the crafty, so that their hands cannot perform their enterprise – Job 5:12.
Prayer: Oh Lord, disappoint my accusers.
Confession: I serve the God of Daniel. My accusers shall always be disappointed. They shall be taken up by their own schemes!
