Scripture Reading: Phil 4:12 I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: everywhere and in all things, I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need.
Reflections: Paul tells the Philippians that he has learned the secret of how to live through any situation, whether he had little or experienced overwhelming abundance. He is talking about adaptive skills, developed over time and critical for thriving and forging ahead in life. Paul confirms that the source of his adaptive skills is Christ (Philippians 4:13). As long as Christ lives in you, you are infused with the power to adapt to changing conditions and eventually emerge victorious. Like Paul, you, too, can live through any situation!
Prayer: Dear Lord, I thank you that I can live through any situation with you.
