Scripture Reading: Ecclesiastes 9:16 Then said I, Wisdom is better than strength: nevertheless, the poor man’s wisdom is despised, and his words are not heard

Reflections: A city came under an attack by a great king. The King built massive siege ramps against it. It all looked set up for this King to achieve his aim of annexing the city to his territories, but a poor man in the town came to the rescue of his people. This poor man did not use his strength to fight but applied his wisdom. By the wise strategy he deployed, his city was saved from the attack. King Solomon pondered over the event and concluded that wisdom is better placed than strength. By this, Solomon brings to mind the importance of developing strategies to combat challenges in life. This is an aspect of wisdom you must not miss in life. Even boxers in the ring competing for titles do not only use their strength. They seek to devise a strategy to help them quickly overcome their opponents. Your ability ‘to think and act in such a way that the choices and judgments you make become beneficial and productive will largely determine the success you achieve in life. Like the poor man, learn to overcome challenges by developing winning strategies based on wisdom.
