Scripture Reading: Revelation 3:1-2: And unto the angel of the church in Sardis write; These things saith he that hath the seven Spirits of God, and the seven stars; I know thy works, that thou hast a name that thou livest, and are dead. Be watchful, and strengthen the things which remain, that are ready to die: for I have not found thy works perfect before God.
Reflections: The church at Sardis was asked to be watchful and to ‘strengthen the things which remain”. Watchfulness provides you with information to make decisions. The word ‘strengthen’ translated from the Greek word ‘Sterizo’ means ‘to turn resolutely in a certain direction’. By implication, you don’t only have to be concerned about information regarding an issue but be equally minded to turn resolutely in the direction that is required to bring redress. For example, when the prodigal son in Luke 15:11-discovered that he needed to have his dignity and honor restored, he initiated a quick action. He set off homewards to seek forgiveness from his father. This resolute turn in his life proved to be the direction that led to his breakthrough. There is no change without action!
Prayer: Dear Lord, help me to initiate actions that will bring into manifestation any required change in my life.
Confession: I am action oriented. I take the initiative to bring about changes I desire to see in my life.
