Scripture Reading: Zec 12:3 And in that day will I make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people: all that burden themselves with it shall be cut in pieces, though all the people of the earth be gathered together against it.

Reflection: The Prophet Zechariah speaks of a coming day when the opposed nation of Israel will be positioned by God as a burdensome stone in the hands of her enemies. No matter how strong these enemies may be, they will be so “burdened” and cut into pieces by this “stone” that they will regret ever coming against it. A burden is something that causes hardship, brutalities and worries. Figuratively, a stone also speaks of weight. A burdensome stone is therefore a sudden unbearable and irresistible oppressive attack. God will suddenly cause Israel’s allied enemies to face such levels of unbearable and irresistible brutalities that they will run away in defeat and shame while leaving Israel alone. One way to encounter freedom from satanic inspired oppositions, is to be made, a ‘burdensome stone that cuts’ in their hands, by God. At that point, you may not do anything directly yourself but the unseen hand of God will move into operation. Your enemies will regret ever touching your life when this happens!

Prayer: Oh God, make me a burdensome cutting stone in the hands of my enemies.

Confession: I have become a burdensome cutting stone to my enemies. They can no longer handle me. I am free.
