Scripture Reading: Luk 1:30-31 & 36
And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour with God. And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS. And, behold, thy cousin Elisabeth, she hath also conceived a son in her old age: and this is the sixth month with her, who was called barren.

Reflections: Mary was unaware that she would become the mother of the Savior. Once more, she was unaware that her cousin Elizabeth, who had been childless for a number of years and was now past childbearing age, was six months pregnant. She uncovered all these secrets following the announcement of angel Gabriel that she had obtained FAVOR from the Lord. The word favor in Hebrew is ratson, which means ‘to delight or take pleasure in’. Divine favour is therefore, being singled out by God for special treatment. As demonstrated in Mary’s life, divine favor bestows to you the unusual privilege of discovering secrets!!

Prayer: Dear Lord, may I obtain divine favor by your mercies.

Confession: I have divine favor. Secrets are uncovered before my eyes.
