Scripture Reading: Eph 1:13-14 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise, Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.
Reflections: Paul teaches us that after we are saved through the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, we are sealed with the Holy Spirit. The presence of the Holy Spirit signifies two critical things: first, we are owned and protected by God, and second, we are assured that we will receive a promised inheritance from the Lord as we await the ‘redemption of the purchased possession’. The phrase ‘redemption of the purchased possession’ implies that those redeemed by the blood from sin and who have been sealed by the Holy Spirit should anticipate another redemption level. This is the redemption of our mortal bodies into immortal ones so that we can be transported to heaven to be with the Lord forever, where we will receive our promised inheritance. Look forward to your final redemption with all eagerness and preparedness! You have been redeemed to be redeemed!
Prayer: Thank you, Lord, that my final redemption is on the way!
Confession: I live in anticipation for the final redemption.
