Scripture Reading:Hebrews 3:2
Who was faithful to him that appointed him, as also Moses was faithful in all his house
Reflections: The author of Hebrews emphasizes the importance of striving for Christlikeness if we claim to be holy and partakers of the heavenly calling. He also stresses the significance of faithfulness in achieving Christlikeness. The author uses the example of Christ, who was ‘faithful to him that appointed him’. The word ‘faithful’ originates from the Greek term ‘pistos’, which refers to how trustworthy and reliable someone is in business transactions, carrying out orders, or fulfilling obligations. In essence, faithful people do not make excuses when fulfilling their commitments. Faithfulness implies a long-term, unwavering commitment to fulfilling obligations and duties. Being faithful is essential evidence of Christlikeness in one’s life.
Prayer: Dear Lord, help me to be faithful.
Confession: I am faithful.
