Wednesday, 1st January 2020: Dig deep!

Scripture Reading: Luke 6:48
He is like a man which built an house, and digged deep, and laid the foundation on a rock: and when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently upon that house, and could not shake it: for it was founded upon a rock.

Reflections: Jesus gave a clear message about the pathway to choose to ensure a secured and blessed future that withstands life’s storms. He uses the analogy of how a builder digs deep into the earth to reach a rocky surface before beginning to lay the foundation for the house. This foundation, now solidly built and resting on the rock rather than mere sand, is what secures the strength of the entire house (super structure) for any future eventuality. Primarily, in this analogy, the rock represents the word of God. Digging into it and utilizing it represents how you rightly allow it to engage and build your life up into an irresistible ‘structure’ that withstands the adversities of life. The word is what you need. Dig deep into it this new year! Happy new year!

Prayer: Oh Lord give me the grace to dig into your word and apply it to my daily living.

Confession: I dig deep into God’s word and apply its principles to my daily living. It’s transforming power repositions me as a solidly built structure that cannot be pulled down by any adverse condition.
