Scripture Reading: 1Th 1:9-10 For they themselves shew of us what manner of entering in we had unto you, and how ye turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God; And to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, even Jesus, which delivered us from the wrath to come.
Reflections: Even though they lived in a time of intense affliction, their conversion to the faith was dramatic. A spectacular and worth emulating attitude they adopted as a key feature of their new lifestyle was to focus on the return of the savior, Jesus Christ. They understood, as part of the salvation message they received, that Jesus will one day return, meet them in the air and take them into His heavenly kingdom where they will live forever. Their action demonstrates that a changed life without a focused expectation on the return of Jesus Christ will not be long lasting. How frequent you meditate on the return of the Lord will largely determine the speed of your character transformation and spiritual positioning necessary to keep you in readiness for this special imminent meeting with the Lord in the air otherwise called the rapture. Like the Thessalonians, keep setting your mind on the return of Jesus Christ. It is an integral and inseparable part of your faith walk.
Prayer: Oh Lord, help me to set my mind on the return of Jesus Christ as a key part of my faith life.
Confession: My mind is set on the return of Jesus Christ. I live in readiness for the rapture.
