Wednesday, 19th March 2025: Wake Up from Sleep: For Our Salvation is Near!

Scripture Reading: Romans 13:11-12 (KJV)
“And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed. The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light.”

Reflections: Paul reminds us that the time of our salvation—the rapture and the fulfillment of God’s promises—is nearer than we imagine. The call to “awake out of sleep” is not simply about physical alertness, but a spiritual awakening. It is time to leave behind the works of darkness that have so long held us captive and to clothe ourselves in the light of Christ. The imagery is powerful: the night is spent, and the day has come. This “day” symbolizes the manifestation of God’s kingdom, the moment when His light dispels all darkness. Every moment that we waste in spiritual slumber is a moment lost to fully embracing the transformation that God is offering. Now is the time to reassess our lives. Are we living in obedience, seeking righteousness, and staying vigilant in our faith? As we await the coming of our Savior, let us actively pursue a life that reflects the urgency of His return.

Prayer: Lord Jesus, Strengthen me to live in a way that honors You.

Confession: I live in a way that honors the Lord
