Wednesday, 19th July 2017: There is a way out!

Scripture Reading: Exodus 14:15-16
And the LORD said unto Moses, Wherefore criest thou unto me? speak unto the children of Israel, that they go forward: But lift thou up thy rod, and stretch out thine hand over the sea, and divide it: and the children of Israel shall go on dry ground through the midst of the sea.

Reflections: Led by Moses, the people of Israel began their journey to Canaan, their promised land. The journey unexpectedly came to a standstill amidst fear. While the Red Sea posed an insurmountable barrier before them, the Egyptian chariots pursued them from behind. Evidently there appeared to be no way out. The logical decision was to surrender to Egyptian oppression again. But to their utter shock, God disapproved of it and rather asked them to keep marching on. This sounded absurd since it meant walking into the sea and getting drowned. But they had another level of shock. As they moved forward, the miraculous happened. As Moses stretched out his rod under divine instruction, the sea parted into two and created a pathway for them. They walked through the sea on dry land and made it safely to the other side. When God is leading you, you must rest assure that there will be a way out where there seems to be no way. Let your catchword always be ” There is a way out” .

Prayer: Dear Lord, I thank you that there will always be a way out!

Confession: There is a way out. I move forward in life. By the divine hand of God I am unstoppable.
