Scripture Reading: Joshua 2:24
And they said unto Joshua, Truly the LORD hath delivered into our hands all the land; for even all the inhabitants of the country do faint because of us.

Reflections: Joshua sent 2 spies to map out the land of Jericho as part of his military strategy. The spies were almost caught as they embarked on their mission but they escaped through the help of Rahab, a native of Jericho. The intervention of Rahab is surprising because she should have handed the spies over to the King of Jericho. She however explained her action. She told the spies that the whole of Jericho including herself were afraid of the people of Israel . They had heard about how God had fought their battles. The spies could not help but rush back to Joshua with this information. ‘All the inhabitants of the land do faint because of us’, they told Joshua. What a joyous news to hear that your enemies are afraid of you. God’s promise in Deut 11:25 that ‘There shall no man be able to stand before you: for the LORD your God shall lay the fear of you and the dread of you upon all the land that ye shall tread upon’ still holds. You must know that any enemy of yours is actually afraid of you ! God has given you the upper hand to win any battle! If God is for you, no one can be against you!

Prayer: Thank you Lord that you have caused my enemies to be afraid of me.

Confession: All my enemies are afraid of me. God has put my fear and dread upon them. They can’t withstand me! I am a winner!
