Scripture Reading:Psa 92:10
But my horn shalt thou exalt like the horn of an unicorn: I shall be anointed with fresh oil.
Reflections: The unicorn is known to be an animal of great strength with one horn. David said God will exalt his horn like that of a unicorn. This description is figurative and speaks of a supernatural elevation to deal with an opposing force or evil. David’s encounter with Goliath is a clear case in point. Activities in Israel came to a standstill for 40 days and nights as the Philistines, led by their champion Goliath, humiliated Israel. Evil triumphed until David came to the scene. He killed Goliath and freed Israel from the threat of the Philistines (1Samuel 17). Given his youthful age, inexperience in warfare and his mere use of stones from a sling, it is clear that without a supernatural element, David would never have been able to defeat Goliath and cut off his head the way he did. Certainly, in the figurative sense, his ‘horn was exalted like that of the unicorn’ to be able to carry out that feat. Like David, God will exalt our horns to deal with the champions of evil that exist in our lives.
Prayer: Oh God, exalt my horn like that of the unicorn
Confession: My horn is exalted like that of the unicorn. I am supernaturally positioned to conquer every evil force fighting my destiny.
