Scripture Reading: 2Kings 4:27B
And the man of God said, Let her alone; for her soul is vexed within her: and the LORD hath hid it from me, and hath not told me..
Reflections: Elisha possessed extraordinary prophetic capabilities. He could tell the Shunem woman was in sorrow as she approached him, but he couldn’t tell why. In his astonishment, he frankly stated that God had concealed the source of the woman’s suffering from him. Both Gehazi and the woman would undoubtedly be taken aback by this remark. If they had ever thought that prophets were all-knowing and all-seeing, they were proven wrong on that particular day. Anyone who believes that the revelatory gift possessed by God’s servants permits them to know and see everything at all times is mistaken. This is the truth that can help you avoid being duped or walking in error. Although you must respect God’s servants, your trust must be based only on God, who knows and sees everything at all times.
Prayer: You remain the only God who sees it all and knows it all!
Confession: No servant of God knows it all and sees it all at any time.
