Wednesday, 16th October 2019:God will not always do the expected!

Scripture Reading:Joh 11:43-44
And when he thus had spoken, he cried with a loud voice, Lazarus, come forth. And he that was dead came forth, bound hand and foot with graveclothes: and his face was bound about with a napkin. Jesus saith unto them, Loose him, and let him go.

Reflections: Lazarus, a friend of Jesus fell ill. His entire family knew that their association with Jesus coupled with how they selflessly support his ministry with their resources was enough to engage his immediate attention. They just knew he will rush from his location against odds to their home to heal Lazarus. This expectation was however dashed on rocks. Jesus arrived 4 days later when Lazarus had died and had been buried. The family concluded that it was too late for anything to be done. But the unexpected happened. Jesus walked to the tomb and raised Lazarus up from the dead to the utter amazement of all. God will not always do the expected! However in the end He will glorify Himself with a mind boggling miracle! Just keep holding on!

Prayer: Dear Lord, I thank you that even though you will not always do as expected, you will nonetheless glorify yourself in my life with a mind boggling miracle!

Confession: I don’t give up on God. He may not do it my way but He will be up to the task, choosing to do it his own way!
