Scripture Reading: Genesis 50:20
But as for you, ye thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save many people alive.

Reflections: The brothers of Joseph, quaking with fear, came and knelt before him, pleading for mercy. They recalled how they had hated and envied him and how they had sought to kill him but ended up selling him into slavery. Joseph’s response surprised them all. He instead counted all the evils they had meted out to him as providing the launching pad for his promotion in life. According to him, it was by this elevated position in Egypt that he had been able to save not only his extended family but several other people and nations. The testimony of Joseph indicates that misfortunes, struggles or challenges in life can become stepping stones to greater heights. The Apostle Paul confirms this when he notes that ‘ all things work for our good’- Romans 8:20.

Prayer: Oh Lord, let any challenge in my life become my propeller to greater heights.

Confession: The challenges I face will turn out to be stepping stones to my breakthroughs in life.
