Scripture Reading: Exodus 4:18. And Moses went and returned to Jethro his father in law, and said unto him, Let me go, I pray thee, and return unto my brethren which are in Egypt, and see whether they be yet alive. And Jethro said to Moses, Go in peace.
Reflections: Moses was now ready to go to Egypt to bring deliverance to Israel as instructed by God. One great lesson he had learnt was God’s absolute abhorrence to submission of excuses. Indeed God had been angry with him for stretching their conversation on the note of excuses. While he thought each of the four excuses he gave for not being the best person to deliver Israel was valid, God’s response simply pointed to just one fact; he could get the job done and he needed to get it done! (Exodus 3:11-12, 13-22, 4:1-9,10-12,13-17). God was proven right. Moses actually brought Israel out of Egyptian bondage (Exodus 12:41-42) and even got them to cross the Red Sea miraculously (Exodus 14:29). Like Moses, learn to deliver on your given tasks and avoid giving of excuses. It is what you need to put you ahead in the race for excellence in life!
