Wednesday, 15th February 2017: God will lift you up!

Scripture Reading: Psalm 30:1
I will extol thee, O Lord; for thou hast lifted me up, and hast not made my foes to rejoice over me.

Reflection: King David pours out his heart to the Lord in full adoration for the change in condition he has experienced. His words ‘thou has lifted me up’ tells it all. It implies that he has been saddled down before with challenges. He indicates that his problems were so unfathomable it made him the laughing stock of his enemies. His lifting up from that condition was however unexpectedly engineered by God. From his testimony, we gain the understanding that an ill condition cannot hold one bound forever. Yes, you cannot be held bound by an ill condition forever. God will lift you up! (Psalm 40:2)

Prayer: Dear Lord, I thank you that I cannot be held bound forever by any ill condition. Grant me a lifting up in Jesus name.

Confession: I cannot be held bound forever. I am lifted out of the miry clay and the horrible pit.
