Scripture Reading: Acts 10:4
And when he looked on him, he was afraid, and said, What is it, Lord? And he said unto him, Thy prayers and thine alms are come up for a memorial before God.
Reflections: Cornelius prayed every day. In addition, he maintained a generous heart towards the poor and the needy in society. He was consistent with this established lifestyle. Unknown to him, this lifestyle, over time, had culminated into a memorial before God! A memorial is a record kept in one’s memory to honour the person. As a result, God sent an angel to visit him. This led to his salvation and that of his entire family. Consistency in doing what is right and pleasing to God attracts divine attention. Like Cornelius, remain consistent in what you are required to do to please the Lord. It will establish a memorial on your behalf which God cannot overlook.
Prayer: Dear Lord, help me to maintain a lifestyle that consistently pleases you.
Confession: I am consistent in pleasing the Lord!
