Scripture Reading: Deu 33:6 Let Reuben live, and not die; and let not his men be few.
Reflection: Moses was about to die. He assembled all the tribes of Israel and got ready to bless them. His first focus was on the tribe of Reuben. He could see the negative trends of their inability to live to full capacity over the years. They seemed to die too early in life affecting their population size. He knew they were suffering from a curse pronounced on Reuben by his father Jacob for having an affair with his concubine. Noting how the words of the curse demoted Reuben from his birth right, made him non influential in life and ensured that his posterity will grow small in population size (Genesis 49:3-4), Moses used his authority as a servant of God to reverse the curse. His words “Let Reuben live, and not die; and let not his men be few” were few but powerful. A pattern of negative trend showing up in your life consistently over time may denote the presence of a curse. Like the case of the Reubenites, it can be broken. Bring it to the Lord in prayer. You can be free from a cursed pattern of living!
Prayer: Oh Lord, let any pattern of negative trend in my life be reversed in Jesus name. Let the power and influence of any curse loose its hold over my life.
Confession: My life is disengaged from negative trends. By the blood of Jesus, I am free from a cursed pattern of living.
