Wednesday, 14th December 2022: Divine favour!

Scripture Reading: Exodus 12:36
And the LORD gave the people favour in the sight of the Egyptians so that they lent unto them such things as they required. And they spoiled the Egyptians

Reflections: Israel had been in slavery in Egypt for 430 years. It was time for them to leave. God knew the Egyptians would let them go without giving them anything in return, so he had a plan. He caused them to look favourably at the people of Israel. This compelled them to yield to everything Israel requested for. Through this opportunity, the people of Israel stripped them of their wealth and marched out into freedom. Favour, from this perspective, is, therefore, a dimension of divine intervention that compels people to meet your needs without reservation. With divine favour, people will do for you what they would never have done. Like Israel, because of divine favour, you will not be denied what you need or is due you!

Prayer: Dear Lord, let me encounter divine favour

Confession: I enjoy divine favour.
