Wednesday, 14th August 2024: You have to be up and doing!

Scripture Reading: Genesis 39:3
And his master saw that the LORD was with him, and that the LORD made all that he did to prosper in his hand.

Reflections: The elevation of Joseph within the household of Potiphar is often credited to divine favour, but it’s crucial to acknowledge Joseph’s diligent work ethic. The story clearly states that God caused everything Joseph did to succeed, establishing a direct connection between Joseph’s actions and divine favour. The Hebrew word ‘âśâh,’ translated as ‘did,’ implies taking action, underlining the necessity of deliberate and consistent effort to achieve progress and desired outcomes. This use of the word’ âśâh’ is a testament to Joseph’s hard work ethic. Like Joseph, embracing the principle of hard work means that your efforts will be accompanied by divine favour, propelling you toward success. Remember, it’s not enough to just pray for the anointing to prosper. You have to be up and doing something!

Prayer: Dear Lord, help me subscribe to the principle of effort and hard work.

Confession: Through hard work, the anointing enables me to prosper in all I do.
