Scripture Reading : Act 4:23-24 And being let go, they went to their own company, and reported all that the chief priests and elders had said unto them. And when they heard that, they lifted up their voice to God with one accord, and said, Lord, thou art God, which hast made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and all that in them is.
Reflections: Following the healing of the man with the lame feet, Peter and John were arraigned before the council and threatened to stop propagating the gospel. After their release from this detention, they got home and narrated the incidence to the rest of the Apostles. Rather than the entire apostolic team debating and discussing the issues further, they switched immediately to prayer. In the process, the Holy Spirit responded by causing the grounds to shake and filling them instantly with more power and boldness. The Holy Spirit was thus ushered in through the prayer session and not at the time of talking. Clearly the apostles knew how to engage Him – talking less and praying more! They had not forgotten about how they followed this same principle in the upper room which led to their first supernatural encounter (Acts 2). When you talk less and pray more, you are sure to encounter the visitation and strategic help of the Holy Spirit.
Prayer: Dear Lord, help me to talk less and pray more.
Confession: I talk less and pray more. I am empowered to face challenges headlong!
