Scripture Reading: Isa 40:31
But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary, and they shall walk, and not faint

Reflections: Strength conveys one’s capacity for action. As the Psalmist acknowledges the limitation of human strength, he reassures us of the availability of boundless divine strength. Access to this strength, as he intimates, is available only to those who choose to wait on the Lord. Therefore, choice-making is critical in determining how we will progress or retrogress in life. Samson was, for instance, blessed with a special kind of divine strength, but his choice of fraternising with Delilah, a harlot, cost him dearly and brought him into shame and humiliation (Judges 16). Let the choices you make in life be driven by the need to stay connected to the limitless strength of God.

Prayer: Dear Lord, help me make the choices that will keep me connected to your limitless strength.
